YAMAHA FZ1 カスタム記録： フェンダーレス
今回は、FZ1の”もったり”としたリア周りをすっきりさせるため、フェンダーレスキットを組み込みます。
いろんな種類がありますが、大差がないのでN屋さんが進めてくれた
Activeの「フェンダーレスキット FZ1」にノーブランドのリフレクターを取り付けることにしました。
Activeのフェンダーレスキットにはリフレクター(反射板)が付いていない、本体とは別に調達する必要があります。
Active製のリフレクター(1,600円)もありましたが、『高い&かっこ良くない』ので、ノーブランドのレフレクター(420円)を調達しました。
取り付けについてですが、添付の説明書には、リアカウルの取り外し方が記載されておらず 「サービスマニュアルを見ろ！」 ととっても不親切(ーー;)
サービスマニュアルなんか持っていないので、いざ自力勝負！全作業工程2時間のうち、1時間をリアカウルの取り外しに費やしました。ゆるみ止めの薬が塗られているボルトの取り外し以外はそんなに難しい作業ではありませんが、どのボルトが関係しているのかが判らなかったのでちょっと時間がかかりました。
フェンダーレスキットの取り付けは、説明書どおりにやれば問題ないと思います。ただ、ウィンカーをステーに取り付けるのが面倒でした。
最後にリフレクターの取り付けです。「個人的には無しでもOK」と思いますが、ここは大人になって法令順守です。ナンバー灯の上に両面テープで貼り付けました。作業時間わずか1分です。
仕上がりですが、知らない人が見るとノーマル？と見間違うほど、すっきり・さっぱりと違和感もなく、まるで『あつらえたような仕上がり』にとても満足しています。
泥はねは、そんなにひどくありません。40kmくらいのスピードで水溜りを走るとリアカウルにちょっとしぶきが掛かっている程度で、背中には掛かっていませんでした。
